Before deciding on blepharoplasty (eyelid plastic surgery), we perform the necessary examinations around the eyes of our patients and examine the amount of fat on the upper and lower eyelid, the amount of wrinkles, and the eye area. If the patient has glaucoma, we ask him/her to have an examination by an ophthalmologist. After the necessary checks are made, we plan the operation.
The upper eyelid blepharoplasty lasts from 30 minutes to 1 hour. In this surgery, both the excess volume of skin on the upper eyelid and the excess fat are taken. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia. In the lower eyelid surgery, excess fat is taken from inside the eye (transconjuntival approach), and the lower eyelid shrinkage complication rate is reduced. If there is excess skin, the excess skin tissue is removed from the lower eyelid by the incision made 1 mm below the eyelashes. This process is under performed general anesthesia. Postoperative ice application is important. 36-48 hours of ice application minimizes the bruising around the eye.
After the upper eyelid surgery, the patient can return to social life in 3-4 days. The number of days after the lower eyelid surgery is 1 week.
Our patients can take a bath after the fourth day, drive on the fifth day and if they use lenses, they can start using the lenses after one week. In short, we can provide you with a more dynamic view in a process that is not considered too long.
